In brief

Connect Thai business, public-sector and community perspectives with international travel markets.

Turn visibility into a visitor journey people can discover, book and experience.

Develop market discovery and supplier readiness as the next stage of work.

A meeting point for markets and local experience

On 18 September 2026, IGLTA and lebua held IGLTA Travel Reception Bangkok at lebua at State Tower, with support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The event brought travel buyers from India into conversation with Thai businesses, public agencies, educational institutions and community organisations.

For Pride Ready Asia, the practical question was how to connect this international market conversation with the people, businesses and services that shape a visitor’s experience in Thailand. Our work around the reception focused on connecting relevant Thai networks and bringing service readiness and local economic participation into that conversation.

The work we brought to the room

Ahead of the reception, Pride Ready Asia coordinated invitations and participation information across tourism businesses, SME-development organisations, public agencies, education and community networks. Bringing these perspectives together helps connect buyer requirements with the realities of service delivery and destination development.

At the event, we presented “From Visibility to Visitor Economy” under Pride Economy 365™. The idea starts with a complete visitor journey: finding reliable information, choosing and booking a service, receiving that service, reaching the next provider, and using feedback to improve the experience.

This connects our work on inclusive service readiness, market access and destination strategy. Each introduction becomes more useful when a business can explain what it offers, which customers it can serve, how booking works, and what evidence supports its service claims.

From visibility to a visitor journey people can discover, book and experience — with evidence that helps services improve.

From the reception to supplier readiness

Following the reception, Pride Ready Asia is developing the Thailand LGBTQ+ Visitor Economy Market Discovery & Supplier Readiness Programme. It will explore international buyer needs alongside the capabilities and development needs of Thai suppliers.

The proposed approach starts with a supplier profile covering products, pricing, sales channels, booking, service delivery and LGBTQ+ inclusion practices. A readiness review would then identify gaps and suitable business-development support before considering buyer matching or other market-access activities.

The initial concept proposes a group of approximately 20–30 businesses, with Silom as an initial urban case study. Scope and collaboration arrangements are still being developed. This is a pathway for learning and preparation; participation would not itself confer accreditation or guarantee sales.

An economy connected through everyday services

A visitor economy connects accommodation, food, mobility, culture, creative businesses and the communities around them. Understanding where visitors find information, where bookings become difficult and where service handoffs fail can help identify which improvements matter most for businesses and destinations.

Our next step is to develop that understanding with businesses and organisations working on market intelligence, SME support and destinations. IGLTA Travel Reception Bangkok provided a setting for those conversations. Pride Ready Asia’s continuing work is to turn the questions they raise into practical tools, clearer supplier information and a better basis for market access throughout the year.
